Be a Greeter at RTFH

Shalom! When people come to services and events at The Reform Temple of Forest Hills, we want to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Having members welcome newcomers and regular attendees is a great way to create that energy from their very first moment.

We invite you to become a Greeter by volunteering for this initiative. Choose a date or two you would be willing to come a little early to an upcoming Shabbat service and welcome others. This is open to the entire families as we all can be powerful greeters!

What is a greeter? A person who genuinely cares about our Congregation and is happy to provide a warm welcome and offer a comfortable entry to all who attend our services and programs. We envision greeters stationed in the lobby near the front door and inside the Sanctuary prior to start of services. Greeters will also welcome people during the Oneg.

Why it is important to be a greeter? To enhance the warmth and vitality of a caring and growing Congregation, encourage people to attend services, reduce any discomfort or awkwardness by attendees when they enter our premises, and allow for the creation and strengthening of connections between everyone.

Please be in touch with us if you have any question at greeters@rtfh.org or just ask us in person. Thank you for helping make our Temple an even more welcoming place.
