Disrupting Racism

Disrupting Racism: What You Can Do To Be An Effective Ally

We will be holding a 2-workshop series on disrupting racism with Dr. Victoria Farris.

In order to effectively disrupt racism, we must first recognize common microaggressions and how racism is manifested. Participants will build a shared dialogue and foundation for effective allyship and expand ability to serve as change agents for equity. The first session on October 19 will focus more on content: what we can do, why it is difficult, and how we can do it anyway. The second session on November 10 will have a heavier focus on small group discussion and practice. Participants will leave with tangible tools for recognizing and disrupting common stereotypes and microaggressions, and disrupting microaggressions: what you can do to be an effective accomplice an appreciation for why it is important to facilitate inclusive spaces.

Both sessions are 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
